The viscometer PCE-RVI 2 measures viscosity within a range of 15 to 100,000 cP. With an accuracy of less than ±2% of the range, it precisely determines the viscosity of a sample liquid. The device measures viscosity by applying mechanical resistance opposite to the spindle’s rotational movement. Users can operate the viscometer at adjustable speeds between 6 and 60 RPM.

Many fluids, like engine oils, change viscosity when exposed to thermal stress, and this is where the viscometer proves useful. It includes an immersion temperature sensor that measures the temperature of a test object between 0 and 100 °C during the measurement. Users can connect the viscometer to a PC via the RS232 interface to monitor the progression of the measurement. Optional software allows the creation of a temperature and viscosity curve during the measurement.

The viscometer features adjustable feet for leveling, ensuring the measuring spindle remains vertical in the medium. A built-in level helps check the alignment. Additionally, users can adjust the test device’s height by up to 25 cm to position the spindle accurately.
