The PCE-CT 5000H is a coating thickness measuring instrument designed for quickly determining coating thicknesses on ferrous (Type F) and non-ferrous (Type N) metals. It automatically detects the type of metal being measured. The PCE-CT 5000H uses magnetic induction for ferrous metals and eddy current for non-ferrous metals to take non-destructive measurements of coating and dry film thickness (DFT) on metal substrates like steel and aluminum.

This gauge is ideal for testing painted and powder-coated surfaces, inspecting automotive paint, testing coated materials, and quality control in manufacturing. Users can set alarm limits to notify when a coating is too thick or too thin. If a measurement falls outside the set limits, a message appears on the display to alert the user.
