Description
Mobile hardness tester / hardness scales HRC, HB, HV and
NDT device suitable for determining the tensile strength Rm / for components up to 1 mm thick.
The Portable Hardness Tester PCE-3000ULS performs a quick assessment of component hardness, even when they are installed. It stands out for its expansive measuring range, easy handling, robust design, and temperature resistance down to -20°C. In addition to measuring hardness in Rockwell, Brinell, and Vickers scales. The tester also determines the tensile strength of steels up to 1740 MPa. The standard manual test probe with a test force of 50N enables measurements from all directions without a correction factor.
The hardness tester features a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) capability. The probe’s tip contains a Vickers diamond excited in the ultrasonic frequency range. During the hardness test, if the diamond contacts the test piece surface, the vibration dampens. The resulting frequency shift directly correlates to the surface hardness. Due to low test forces, the diamond’s penetration depths are minimal, leaving almost invisible impressions.
Applications
This hardness tester is ideal for checking
- small, thin-walled components
- surface-hardened specimens
- nitrided components
- weld seams
- components with complex geometries
In addition to the UCI measuring method, the hardness tester can be equipped with a rebound tester, transforming it into a Leeb hardness tester.
The universal hardness tester PCE-3000ULS combines Ultrasonic Contact Impedance (UCI) and Dynamic Rebound (Leeb) methods. It allows users to handle various field hardness testing tasks. It enables rapid hardness testing of carbon and structural steels, welds, coatings, overlays, and various steel types in hard-to-reach places and at any angle.
The UCI probe facilitates hardness testing of small, thin specimens with complex shapes, such as grooves, small radius surfaces, shaft necks, gears, and blades.
The Leeb probe, with a dynamic type D probe, allows the user to test the hardness of solid parts with rough surfaces. The instrument can be equipped with interchangeable probes of different dimensions and spring stiffnesses.
The instrument serves as a universal tool for non-destructive metal hardness testing. It features one-point calibration to create user-defined hardness scales. This calibration ensures high accuracy, enabling quick and precise hardness measurement of large product batches.
With the Portable Hardness Tester PCE-3000ULS, users can create and store over 500 hardness scales, and view measurement history. Benefit from pre-calibrated UCI and Leeb probes. The instrument includes standard Rockwell, Vickers, Brinell, and Shore calibrations, with the option to create additional calibrations for different materials.
